Nationwide Sports Radio announced today the addition of the “Jeff Owens Radio Show” providing listeners with updated news from the South Eastern and East Coast sports scene. Nationwide Sports Radio listeners now have access to one of the most informative and rising pair of sport-talk stars in the business in Jeff Owens and Tasha Humphrey.
“Nationwide Sports Radio is excited to provide our listeners with a radio program that we believe is on the verge of greatness” said Danny Echols, Director of Public Relations.
“Jeff and Tasha bring a vast array of knowledge to our station from their playing days that range from high school, college, pro football, pro basketball, and even a gold medal in the Pan American Games.”
Jeff Owens is from Fort Lauderdale Florida, and attended the University of Georgia where he was a Football Freshmen All-American, and was later drafted by the Philadelphia. Jeff was also named to the 2009 Allstate American Football Coaches Association Good Works Team and was tabbed by Sporting News as "SEC's Best Personality" in 2009.
Tasha Humphrey is from Gainesville, Georgia and is a former professional basketball player that attended the University of Georgia. Tasha completed her career as Georgia's second all-time scorer and fourth all-time rebounder. Humphrey scored her 1,000th point in just 53 games, the second fastest in school history.
Humphrey was selected in the first round of the 2008 WNBA Draft by the Detroit Shock. Halfway through her rookie season, she was traded to the Washington Mystics. She played the center position for the Washington Mystics in until 2009. Humphrey played for the USA team in the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The team won all five games, earning the Gold Medal for the event.
“We believe this is the perfect timing for the addition of this new program. When we merged the four stations together as one, we did so to revolutionize the way sports talk radio is done. The addition of this show is just another step in the process.” Echols said in closing.
